Casa de Misericordia staff will assist you with a safety plan and answer questions regarding your situation. All information obtained is confidential. Appropriate referrals will be made to community agencies depending on your needs or the needs of other victims.

 

If thinking of leaving, your safety is most important

Sometimes the abuse has escalated to the point where you may have to leave your home.
 

Plan ahead:

 Think of relatives and friends who can assist you
 

Prepare yourself with:

  • Legal documents (see checklist)
  • Change of clothes
  • Money
  • Medication
  • Children’s diapers, formula and child’s favorite toy 

Protective order

A protective order will remove the batterer from the house. For more information on protective orders, call Casa de Misericordia or call 911.
